Every outboard engine and sterndrive has lubrication points that require an application of grease as part of regular maintenance. Grease acts as both a lubricant between moving parts and as a moisture barrier that keeps water out of those moving parts. Quicksilver® offers two high-performance grease products that are designed specifically for marine duty. Unlike many automotive or general-purpose grease products, Quicksilver marine grease is specially formulated not to break down in the presence of water.

Quicksilver 2-4-C Marine Grease

Quicksilver 2-4-C Marine Grease is a versatile lithium-based grease that belongs in the toolbox of every marine engine owner. It offers excellent resistance to oxidation and degradation and features extreme pressure additives to withstand friction in a wide variety of applications and range of temperatures. It is also compatible with other grease types that may have been previously used on your engine.

2-4-C Marine Grease in a grease gun is the right choice for grease fittings on an outboard motor swivel bracket and tilt tube, and for trim rod ends. It is recommended for hinge pins on MerCruiser® sterndrives. 2-4-C Marine Grease is also easy to apply to friction points in remote controls and to the cables and linkages on steering and throttle/shift systems. As well, you should spread 2-4-C Marine Grease on outboard and sterndrive prop-shaft splines every time the prop is removed. See your engine or drive owner’s manual for specific lubrication points.

Quicksilver 2-4-C Marine Grease is available in an 8-ounce tube, in 3-ounce and 14-ounce grease gun cartridges, and in a kit with a compact grease gun.

Quicksilver High-Performance Extreme Grease

Quicksilver High Performance Extreme Grease is formulated for marine use and also is a versatile lubricant for a wide variety of powersports applications. Your marine technician will use this grease on sterndrive drive shaft splines, gimbal bearings and U-joints because it is more heat tolerant than 2-4-C Marine Grease. It’s also ideal for use in trailer wheel bearings, for cables and linkages, and for suspension and chassis lubrication on motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and automobiles.

High Performance Extreme Grease is available in an 8-ounce tube and in 3-ounce and 14-ounce grease gun cartridges.
